Backup

The BACKUP function is related to Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity. In the event of a computer failure this function can assist in you restoring your Setoff Debt system.

Frequency: This process can be run at anytime.

It is very important that you backup your data on a regular basis! This function will ONLY back up your databases, not the entire software program. If you have an Information Technology (I.T.) staff, you should consult them. They may be able to automate and schedule your system for backup. If your hard drive ever fails, you could use the backup media to restore all of your data. If you do not have backups and your hard drive fails, all of your Debtors and their debts will be lost. Please take advantage of this safety feature! This operation will backup your database from your hard disk to whatever media you can access.

You should save the Backup file to a location on the network that is backed up. Check with your I.T staff to be sure the location you are choosing is on a regularly scheduled backup. To keep an offsite copy of your backup, contact the Clearinghouse who will keep a copy at no charge.
